Walking and cycling around Palomino

Palomino is a walk-or-cycle kind of place: one main street of shops and sandy lanes running down to the sea.

What it is

The village is small: a strip of shops and restaurants along the Troncal del Caribe road and sandy lanes heading down to the beach. The hostel is a few blocks from the main road and 1.1 km from the sea, so nearly everything is walkable.

If you would rather pedal, bikes can be hired at the hostel (for a fee).

Why you may love it

  • Local restaurants serving a set menu of the day
  • Walking to the beach one way and back another
  • Cycling to the river

How to arrange it

  1. Ask at the hostel about bike hire.
  2. There is no big supermarket: the village shops cover the basics.
  3. Palomino has very few ATMs: carry cash.
