The garden

A house that lives outdoors

Timber, bamboo and palm around a garden that grows at its own pace. Life here happens among the trees: in the chairs, in the hammocks, in the kitchen and at the tables under the lights.

Chapter 1

A garden with a life of its own

You walk through a wooden gate and the village falls away. Inside there are red ixoras along the fence, fuchsia bougainvillea climbing towards the palm roof, ferns, huge elephant-ear leaves and tall trees that give shade all afternoon.

When the pomarroso tree blooms, it drops its flowers and the ground wakes up fuchsia. Parakeets turn up in the starfruit tree and hummingbirds in the flowers. None of it is scheduled: the garden keeps its own calendar.

Reception among flowers: a garden bed of pink periwinkles, bougainvillea and ferns, with a wooden sign reading “Recepción”.

The fuchsia carpet

Syzygium malaccense · Malay apple

When the pomarroso (Malay apple) tree blooms, its flowers fall and turn the ground fuchsia. It does not happen all year: if it coincides with your visit, take your shoes off.

Chapter 2

A house for sharing

The kitchen belongs to everyone: a fridge, a stove, pots and utensils to cook your own food, and nearly always someone to talk to while the water boils.

Around it there are colourful Acapulco chairs, hammocks, a timber veranda by the rooms, the green lounge and picnic tables under string lights. Colombian travellers, families, backpackers from everywhere and creative folk cross paths here.

Chapter 3

Spaces that inspire

The wooden deck invites you to move slowly. The guitar in the lounge invites you to sing. And the walls tell you who has passed through: muralists who came to visit and left their mark, like the painted jaguar.

Every now and then there are movie nights, themed dinners, cooking get-togethers, acoustic music, karaoke or mural projects. None of these are fixed events: ask what is happening during your stay.

When night falls

The lights come on, the timber turns golden and the garden changes its voice. Conversations at the tables, the hammock on the upper floor, the sound of crickets.
